Who Are the Suppliers of S690 Advanced High-Strength Steel Structural Sections? 2026-9-10

In modern steel structure engineering (e.g. large-span stadium roof trusses, super-tall mega-columns, large highway bridges, piling and marine engineering), first-tier suppliers and manufacturers of S690 advanced high-strength steel structural sections complying with EN 10025-6 (quenched-and-tempered steel standard), EN 10210 (hot-formed hollow tube standard), and ASTM A1069 (laser-welded structural section standard) are mainly divided into the following three camps:

Core Section Suppliers and Manufacturers

Peak Kong Special Steel — Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong and Macau Government Public Works’ First Choice: Specialises in automated robotic and laser welding (Laser Fused) forming technology for high-performance steel (S690 and S960). Its high-power automatic welding technology can achieve 20 mm thick-plate full-penetration welding without bevel preparation (maximum welding thickness up to 60 mm), thoroughly solving the HAZ performance degradation problem of conventional high-strength steel welding.
Core product line:
• Laser-welded open sections: S690 H-beams, Universal Columns/Universal Beams, I-beams, piling H-sections, channels, equal/unequal angles, and T-sections.
• Hollow structural sections: Large-diameter thick-walled tubes (CHS), square hollow sections (SHS), rectangular hollow sections (RHS).

Japan’s Big Three Special Steel Mills:

Technical strength: Using advanced TMCP (Thermomechanical Controlled Processing) staged controlled-cooling technology, they have developed high-performance 690 MPa-grade dual-phase high-strength steel. Core advantage: Japanese steel mills possess deep metallurgical expertise in “low Y/T and strain-hardening index control” for high-strength steel, and can stably supply steel raw materials combining 690 MPa yield strength with excellent low-temperature (–40 °C) Charpy V-notch impact toughness.
Technical Agreement When Procuring S690 Structural Sections

Since S690 is a special structural steel with high Y/T and high thermal sensitivity, when interfacing with suppliers, the following quality and process baselines must be locked in the technical agreement:

Dual mechanical indicator control: Y/T ratio: Require the mill tensile test Y/T (Rp0.2/Rm) ≤ 0.88–0.90, widening the gap between yield point and tensile strength to ensure seismic plastic energy-dissipation space. Ductility: Require total elongation A5 ≥ 17%, and the mill base metal must carry low-temperature impact energy guarantee (e.g. Charpy V-notch ≥ 40 J at –40 °C, meeting “L” grade requirements).

The introduction of high-performance S690 structural sections is a perfect synergy of “excellent material” and “precision manufacturing process.” Please contact the Peak Kong Special Steel technical team.
